Sugarcane Jane "Cabin on the Hill"

2020 is so fast! Blink, and we are already knocking on the door of February. It has been a blur for me, including being on the Delbert & Friends Sandy Beaches Cruise which was a delightful diversion, filled with friends and music. It seems we are all so busy that it can’t hurt to remind each other to make time. We have a house rule that there are no cell phones at dinner. That’s really hard to do these days…the whole dinner, not just the main course. Ha!

His self-titled album came out on Little Dog Records, which is Pete Anderson’s label. He is a master songwriter and an in-demand session player. With wife Savana, they are Sugarcane Jane, and have two albums out, not to mention being part of the larger artist collective Willie Sugarcapps, along with Will Kimbrough, Grayson Capps, and Corky Hughes.

It’s all about family and friends and a feeling of belonging in today’s video from Sugarcane Jane. They extoll the virtues, and vices, of their “Cabin On The Hill,” which Music Fog filmed in early 2019 in a private session.

Seth Walker "No More Will I"

Hello from the Love Boat. Not to be too loosey goosey about it, but I set sail for the Caribbean this past Saturday with Delbert McClinton on his 26th Annual Sandy Beaches Cruise. Performances have flowed from the likes of The Mavericks, Shinyribs, Band Of Heathens, Marcia Ball, Mingo Fishtrap, Bonnie Bishop, The McCrary Sisters, and more, so you know I am among friends. And there are so many cool folks in the audience that have come to bask in the sunshine and in the love of the music. I recommend it highly, it’s a great winter break. Check out 2021!

I always feel the water in his music, and here on the boat that is especially apropos. See if you don’t agree, on the tune “No More Will I,” filmed during our last private Music Fog sessions in Nashville.
